Canines:

Spirit Wolves
Dirge Brothers - Large black wolves, often thick of fur and muscle. At adolescent age, they are branded with spiritual markings which will enhance the power of their howls. These markings are said to glow at night, the colour of their glow revealing what aspect they choose to specialize in (white=essence, red=combat, green=necromantic). Cubs are tested once whelped to assess their affinity and begin training towards this goal. Their song delves into death dirges and draws their power from their kills. These wolves are found in thick forest or marshland areas. Though they are living beasts, their blood flows very slowly and appears as a black sludge akin to coagulated blood. Those that ascend death become like Gods and are forever revered by all of their kin.

Regal Wolves
Minstrel Cabal - White-furred wolves of noble stature. Their fur is silky and incandescent, their build slender. Their bloodlines ensure that they rarely encounter hostile forces, even outside of the wolven packs. Stray Minstrels are always welcome in any pack as their songs can lull the most restless spirit and give courage to those long thought broken. Mostly their abilities are benedictory. The rare human to have glimpsed these wolves refer to them as angels. It is rare, but at times when a Minstrel is forced into combat, they will choose not to fight and instead die to their attacker. Their blood is a crystalline blue that glitters in starlight. These wolves enjoy making their dens behind waterfalls or in lush valleys.

Normal Wolves
Brethren Packs - These wolves will vary in colouring and build depending on where they choose to den. Forest wolves tend to be gray or white with rough pelts and muscular builds. Plains wolves will be limber and brown, while mountain wolves are the largest and most muscular with their fur being either white or brown depending on how cold their environments are. They live much as wolves normally do and avoid human habitations.

Outsiders
Mutts: A roaming pack of stray dogs abandoned by their human partners. The benefit to their diversity is the wide range of skills that they bring to the pack, making them quite capable of fending for themselves without the need for alliances. Leaders of a Mutt pack are often as tough as they are wise, and are chosen by their peers rather than having the title fought for in contention as the Alpha position would be in a wolf pack. Those that choose to try to advance in this manner are almost always driven off from the pack, where they become strays in truth and eventually die alone. Mutts are disdained by both canine and felines though are asked on occasion to assist in territorial wars. If they aid greatly to those who employ them, the Mutt pack leader will always demand territory of their own where they can safely establish their pack. They will send out hunting parties to search for other strays (who have not been exiled from another pack) and bring them to their pack. Sometimes exiled wolves will join with a Mutt pack.

Felines:
Spirit Felines
Faekitts - Whimsy cats that exist half in the spirit world, and half in the material world. Can change shape (fake its) and often enjoy using this ability to prank those of the material realm. Must concentrate to be solid in the material realm and when not masking themselves they appear as fluffy kittens (often with wings. Wing type varies from which spirit pride the kitt comes from.) Faekitts are difficult to kill or capture, as they flee immediately to their spirit dens when they feel threatened and are very skittish. These felines make excellent scouts because of their transparent nature and their love of collecting anything shiny, even glass baubles!

Regal Felines
Lords of Claw - Masters of the feline world, they focus primarily on honing their abilities and reinforcing laws upon their kith to ensure that all felines behave in appropriate manner. It would not be strange to see a single Lord be king of feline prides to proctor and observe their behaviour. All exiles enforced upon felines are done so at a Lord's command, and only a Lord can renounce their exiled status. Unlike many species of the world, Lords do not have a lifespan. They can live until the world dies and beyond and some have been known to aged for thousands of years. Their pelts change colour as they age going from black with silver markings when born, to silver with black markings when reaching an age past 1000. The pelt stops changing colour once a Lord has reached a thousand years, though this is rare as they are targets of assassination and have a very low fertility rate. Their build is ever shifting...A Lord will have the same appearance the pride they govern, save for their distinctive pelt colouration.

Normal Felines
Craggy Pride - Craggy felines range from prides of bobcats, to mountain lions and, in very rare cases, the mystical coeurls. All species are either thick of muscle and capable of prowling any mountainous area with fair ease or slender and quick and mostly live in grasslands. All types are very territorial and they will kill trespassers without warning and with thorough ambush. Any pride would be proud to be home to a Lord of Claw and this distinction grants them much prestige with prides who can make no such boast.

Outsiders
Exiled Kin - These are the felines that have broken pride law or have displeased a Lord. For the most part exiled kin live in solitude or with a mate, though prides entirely of exiled felines have been known to form and even pose as a substantial threat. Should exiled prides prove troublesome, Lords will immediately band to eliminate them to ensure peace to the feline world. The differentiation of Craggy and Kin prides can be easily discerned as Craggy prides are all of one type of felines and Kin are of several banding together. In the very rare case an exiled feline can return to their pride if a Lord has granted them amnesty. This is rare, as any act seen to benefit a pride is considered duty rather than amendment.

Other possibilities...hoofed (S: Unicorn, R: Pegasus, N: Equines, O:Rogues), scaled (S: Dragon, R: Basilisk, N: Scaled, O: Scarred) and avian (S: Phoenix, R: Gryphon, N: Raptors, O: Scavengers.)
